As passionate disciples of Jesus Christ, we are called to foster meaningful relationships with one another, rooted in love, virtue, and a shared commitment to grow in our faith together. A few weeks ago, I had the privilege of leading a reflection on Christian friendship with our Comunidades de Base (our small Christian communities made up of Spanish speakers from the parish). I want to share some of that reflection with you all.

Gospel of Matthew Beginning in September, Morning Bible Study

Our Tuesday First/Third Bible Study group is beginning a new study on the Gospel of St. Matthew in September. They will be using the Ignatius Series study guide. The group is open to men and women and meets Tuesdays at 6:30 am online via Zoom. Contact Jim Storey for more details and to register - jmstore@yahoo.com - or the parish office.

Volunteers Needed for Parish Funerals!

We are seeking dedicated volunteers to assist with various aspects of parish funerals. Your help is invaluable in providing comfort and support to grieving families during their difficult times. Join us for information meetings and initial training on Wednesday, July 26, at 5:30 pm, and Saturday, July 29, at 8:00 am. We need altar servers, lectors, sacristans, on-site coordinators, and compassionate individuals to work with families in planning their loved one's funeral.

SVDP Updates

August 1, 2023 Update from St. Vincent de Paul

The St. Vincent DePaul Center needs a strong volunteer to pick up Meijer orders on the months with an extra week - 4 times a year: January July, October, December. This person must be able to lift 50-pound bags.

New Pyxes for Visitation Ministry

The Corpus Christi Foundation provided grant funds for the purchase of nine pyxes for the St. Francis de Sales Parish visitation ministry through a grant submitted by Tom Eggleston last fall. Pyxes are sacred vessels used to transport the Body of Christ to those who are not able to attend Mass due to physical limitations.
