St. Francis Announces 2 New Staff Members

I am happy to announce that, after much prayer and working with two search committees, we have hired two new members of our ministry team.

Sr. Noella Poinsette, osf, a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Oldenburg, IN will become the new Director of Outreach & Social Justice.  She is planning to move to Holland around May 12 and begin on the May 19.  Sr. Pat will help to train and mentor her on the many aspects and necessary knowledge Sr. Noella will need to have about this ministry.

Catholic Services Appeal

Catholic Services Appeal We are beginning our 2014 Catholic Services Appeal (CSA). This week you should receive a letter from Bishop Walkowiak asking you to make a commitment to the CSA. This annual collection supports the work of our diocesan programs and ministries that provide services that no one parish could provide on its own. Your gift to CSA enables diocesan and parish ministries to reach out to people in our 11 counties in a variety of ways, including formation of our seminarians; youth programming; support for the homebound and those who are incarcerated; families who are struggling; the hungry; and the homeless. Through CSA we all work together to care for the church by sharing the gifts God has granted us. Our parish goal for 2014 is $116,343.00 and 100% participation, which means a pledge card from every parish family. With everyone’s participation we can exceed our goal! Keep in mind that any amount raised above our goal stays in this parish. Thank you for doing your part for CSA 2014. Please experience the joy of giving and join us as we work to continue God’s work of spirituality, charity, and education.
