A Special Mass of Gratitude and Solidarity: Celebrating Our Migrant Workers

Last Saturday, July 29, 2023, our parish had the great honor of welcoming Bishop David Walkowiak to celebrate a meaningful Mass with our community. The Mass was a beautiful expression of gratitude and solidarity with our migrant brothers and sisters who visit us each year to work in the local migrant camps. It was a powerful reminder of our call as Catholic Christians to embrace social justice and care for those who contribute so much to our community through their hard work.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the volunteers who served during the Mass and contributed to the preparations. Their dedication ensured that our worship was reverent and seamless. Additionally, we want to express our sincere appreciation to those who generously brought food and assisted with setting up and cleaning up after the meal. Their efforts created an atmosphere of hospitality and warmth that made the occasion truly special.

As a parish community, we recognize the important role that our migrant brothers and sisters play in our community. Their dedication and hard work in the local migrant camps enrich our region in countless ways. It is through their labor and dedication that we are able to enjoy the fruits of their work and provide for our families. Our faith calls us to stand in solidarity with these individuals, to see them as our brothers and sisters, and to advocate for their rights and well-being.

Let us keep all migrants in our prayers as they navigate the challenges of their journey and work tirelessly to support their families. May we recognize the dignity and worth of every human being, regardless of their background or circumstances. Let us pray for their safety, health, and happiness, and may God bless their endeavors abundantly.
