Gift Bearers during Mass
Gift Bearers from the community present the bread and wine, which will be transformed through the Mystery of Transubstantiation into the real Body and Blood of Christ. These gift bearers represent the entire parish as we return to God a small part of the many blessings that God has given to us.
Who?
A minimum of two people are needed for each Mass, and families are welcome.
What is involved?
During the prayer of the faithful, the gift bearers walk to the back of the church. The ushers will give you the ciborium (bowl) of communion bread and the glass carafe of communion wine. At their signal, you’ll carry the gifts reverently up the aisle to where the priest is waiting. The gift bearers follow the ramp up to the back side of the altar, giving first the wine and then the bowl of bread to the priest. Leaving the altar, the gift bearers walk back down the ramp, stop on the main floor in front of the altar area and bow together. Then you turn, walk down the aisle, and return to your seat.
Requirements:
Anyone can be a gift bearer - there is no special training needed
Portadores de Ofrendas Durante la Misa
Los Portadores de Ofrendas de la comunidad presentan el pan y el vino, que serán transformados a través del Misterio de la Transubstanciación en el verdadero Cuerpo y Sangre de Cristo. Estos portadores de ofrendas representan a toda la parroquia mientras le devolvemos a Dios una pequeña parte de las muchas bendiciones que Dios nos ha dado.
¿Quién?
Se necesita un mínimo de dos personas para cada misa, las familias son bienvenidas.
¿Qué implica?
Durante la oración de los fieles, los portadores de ofrendas caminan hacia la parte de atrás de la iglesia. Los acomodadores les entregarán el copón (cuenco) del pan de comunión y la jarra de cristal del vino de comunión. A la señal, llevarán las ofrendas con reverencia por el pasillo hasta donde está esperando el sacerdote. Los portadores de las ofrendas siguen la rampa hasta la parte de atrás del altar, entregando primero el vino y luego el cuenco del pan al sacerdote. Al salir del altar, los portadores de regalos bajan por la rampa, se detienen en el piso principal frente al área del altar y se inclinan juntos. Luego gira, camina por el pasillo y regresa a su asiento.
Requisitos:
Cualquier persona puede ser portador de ofrendas; no se necesita una formación especial.
