The National Association of Pastoral Musicians (NPM-GR) fosters the art of musical liturgy. Members serve the Catholic Church in the United States as musicians, clergy, liturgists, and other leaders of prayer. The Grand Rapids chapter has been active since the 1980s in promoting "full, conscious and active participation in liturgical celebrations (CSL 14)". The association operates under the auspices of the USCCB and offer opportunities that support musical liturgy and musicians through prayer, education and fellowship.
