Friday, October 28 and Saturday, October 29, youth participating in our Alpha for Youth and their host and helpers were at Corpus Christi Catholic School for a weekend of prayer, reflection, and community. The focus was on introducing the Holy Spirit especially through Prayer Ministry.
Most of the youth participating in Alpha for Youth are in the process of preparing to Celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation. Starting in January they will begin a new program call Inheritance where they will dive into the New Testament focusing on the early Church and the movement of the Holy Spirit. They will also spend more time practicing prayer including praying over others.
We are so appreciative of our hosts and helpers (volunteers) who have given so much and are so dedicated to proclaiming the Good News with these youth and walking with them on their faith journeys. We are also grateful to the parents of our youth who are getting their youth to and from these events and who are also taking part in Alpha for Adults.
Please keep our youth and our efforts to help people encounter Jesus Christ on their path of discipleship in prayer.
El viernes 28 y sábado 29 de octubre, los jóvenes que participan en nuestro Alpha for Youth y su anfitrión y ayudantes estuvieron en la Escuela Católica Corpus Christi durante un fin de semana de oración, reflexión y comunidad. La atención se centró en la introducción del Espíritu Santo, especialmente a través del Ministerio de Oración.
La mayoría de los jóvenes que participan en Alpha for Youth están en proceso de preparación para celebrar el Sacramento de la Confirmación. A partir de enero comenzarán un nuevo programa llamado Herencia donde se sumergirán en el Nuevo Testamento centrándose en la Iglesia primitiva y el movimiento del Espíritu Santo. También pasarán más tiempo practicando la oración, incluida la oración por los demás.
Estamos muy agradecidos con nuestros anfitriones y ayudantes (voluntarios) que han dado tanto y están tan dedicados a proclamar las Buenas Nuevas con estos jóvenes y caminar con ellos en sus jornadas de fe. También estamos agradecidos con los padres de nuestros jóvenes que los llevan a estos eventos y que también participan en Alpha for Adults.
