Eucharistic Procession on Feast of Corpus Christi, June 2024

Eucharistic Procession June 2024 - Feast of Corpus Christi

As we celebrate the Feast of Corpus Christi this weekend, our parish honors the true presence of Jesus in the Eucharist, His body and blood given for us. For this feast, we gather today for a Eucharistic Procession after the 12:30 pm Mass around our neighborhood, responding to the call of our bishop who urges all parishes in our diocese to embrace this expression of faith. This procession, part of the ongoing Eucharistic Revival in the United States, underscores the central importance of the Eucharist in our Catholic tradition.

The Eucharist is not merely a symbol but the living presence of Christ among us. It is the bread of life, the source and summit of our nourishment and strength. As we carry the Blessed Sacrament through our neighborhood streets, we bear witness to the real presence of Jesus, His love radiating out to all who see us. This public act of devotion proclaims that our faith is vibrant and alive, meant to be shared with the world.

The Eucharist is a profound encounter with Jesus. In receiving His body and blood, we are united with Him in a unique and intimate way. It is a communion that transforms us, empowering us to be the hands and feet of Jesus in our daily lives. Through the Eucharist, we are called to live out our mission to grow passionate disciples of Jesus Christ, serving our community with love and humility based on our core values to worship, grow, evangelize, and love that inspires others to seek Jesus.

As we celebrate the Feast of Corpus Christi and participate in today's procession, may the true presence of Jesus in the Eucharist renew our faith, strengthen our community, and inspire us to bring His light to all we encounter.

By Ricardo Valdez, Director of Evangelization
