During the seasons of lent and Easter we will begin using the Apostles Creed in our weekend liturgies. The Apostles creed is more closely connected with Baptism and uses more direct language about Jesus’ 3 days in hell before resurrection. Either creed is completely valid, and can be used at any mass any time – however in the liturgical documents of the church, the church slightly favors using the Apostles creed during the seasons of lent and Easter.
I’d suggest that to prepare for this, you take a few moments each day during the week to pray the Apostles creed so that it isn’t quite as shocking when you get to mass! It will be printed in the worship aid, and is available in the hymnal in the section with the red edge of the page.
Durante las temporadas de Cuaresma y Pascua, comenzaremos a usar el Credo de los Apóstoles en nuestras liturgias de fin de semana. El credo de los Apóstoles está más relacionado con el bautismo y usa un lenguaje más directo sobre los 3 días de Jesús en el infierno antes de la resurrección. Cualquier credo es completamente válido y se puede usar en cualquier Misa en cualquier momento; sin embargo, en los documentos litúrgicos de la iglesia, la iglesia favorece ligeramente el uso del credo de los Apóstoles durante las temporadas de Cuaresma y Pascua.

I believe in God, the Father almighty,
Creator of Heaven and Earth,
and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died and was buried;
he descended into hell;
on the third day, he rose again from the dead;
