Infants and Toddlers

The baptism of a baby or small child is a wonderful and important celebration.

To prepare for baptism of an infant or small child, the parents need to do 3 things:

  • Baptism Preparation Session, a 2 1/2 hour session focusing on Catholic parenting and the Rite of Baptism which is usually offered on the first Tuesday of each month.
  • The Covenant Program, a day-long "retreat" which will focus on you and your child's relationship with God and the Church.  The program is offered on four Saturdays each year.
  • Parents need to pay a $50 baptism stipend.  This fee covers parish expenses for the preparation and ceremony.  (As always, no child will be denied baptism due to inability to pay.)

Children between the ages of 4-6 should be attending the Early Childhood classes held during all Sunday Masses.  Registration is not necessary for these classes.  Godparents are welcome and encouraged to attend both the Baptism Preparation Session and the Covenant Program.
