After 21 years of her presence among us as a director of outreach, social justice education, migrant and immigration ministry, Sister Pat will be moving to her community’s retirement center in Farmington Hills, MI.  She will leave us in late June, and we will offer a time of farewell on the weekend of June 11 & 12.

Message from Fr. Charlie Brown, Pastor

When Pope Francis came to New York last year he sang the praises of the women religious in the U.S. calling them women of strength.  He recognized that their spirit of courage has put them in the front lines of the proclamation of the gospel in the history of the Catholic Church in the U. S.   “What would the Church be without you?” he said to them.  These are also our sentiments as the parish of St. Francis de Sales bids farewell to Sr. Pat Lamb.  She concludes 21 years of generous, dedicated, compassionate and faithful service to our parish, the greater community of Holland-Zeeland and beyond.  She taught us by word and example that in reaching out in love to the poor, the homeless, the immigrant, the stranger and anyone in need that it is indeed Christ we are serving.  She taught us how to connect a life of prayer and worship with works of mercy and justice.  I along with so many feel that we are saying farewell to a dear friend and faithful disciple.  What will our parish and community be without you, Sr. Pat we ask.  Our answer: we will miss you, pray for you, hold you close in our hearts and continue to serve in the way she showed us.  Thank you for all you have been to us.
