Becoming DIsciples

Our parish has eleven people prayerfully considering becoming fully initiated Catholics through the process called the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults. Seven of these adults have discerned that they are ready to take the next step in the process and celebrate the combined Rite of Welcome and Acceptance Saturday, November 8, 2014 at the 5:00 pm Mass.  Please keep them all in prayer as they continue to discern where they are on their faith journey and when and where their next step will lead them.

Those of them who are not yet baptized will celebrate the Rite of Acceptance.  The rite will mark their first stirrings of knowing the Lord.  It would also mark a promise on their side to work toward growing that initial relationship with the Lord.  On the side of the parish, it marks our promise to pray for them and help them grow that relationship and to become active members in the parish.

Those of them who have already celebrated their baptism will celebrate the Rite of Welcome.  This marks their serious commitment to continue to study, pray, and experience the Christian faith in the Catholic Church.  On the side of the parish, it marks our promise to pray for them and help them grow their relationship with the Lord and be brought into the life of the parish.
